Visiting the City That Built the Hanford Nuclear Site

As my aircraft methods the Tri-Towns Airport in south-central Washington state, the sandy expanse exterior my window provides way to hundreds of vibrant green circles and squares. From this semi-arid terrain springs an irrigated oasis of potatoes, hops, peaches, and sweet corn. Just beyond our look at is 1 of the most contaminated spots in the planet: the Hanford Site, home to 177 growing old tanks of radioactive squander.
